ECONOMIC DIGNITY AND DEVELOPMENT
Maryland needs an economy that recognizes the dignity of work and breaks down the structural barriers that have held back so many Black and brown entrepreneurs.
AN ALLY TO MARYLAND WOMEN
Maryland women — especially Black women — face unique and significant challenges. John knows that they need leadership that will prioritize their needs and promote bold solutions to the issues they face.
PROTECTING THE BAY, CLIMATE ACTION, & RENEWABLE ENERGY
John understands that the Chesapeake Bay is one of our most important resources and that we must protect and revitalize it while protecting our vulnerable coastal communities from the effects of climate change.
John believes everyone deserves to live in a healthy and clean environment, no matter their income or zip code.
John believes that health care is a human right. While Maryland’s unique health care system has had its fair share of successes, some serious challenges around access and equity remain.
John has heard concerns about housing from Marylanders across the state and will take a holistic approach to tackling the housing crisis by building housing policy around supply, stability, and subsidy.
John will be a champion for equitable, accessible, and smart public transit that faces the Climate Crisis head on.
SUPPORTING IMMIGRANT COMMUNITIES
John knows that immigrants are essential members of their communities, driving forces to Maryland’s economy, and contribute greatly to the cultural vibrancy of our state.
John believes wholeheartedly that LGBTQ+ Marylanders of all ages deserve to live safe, prosperous, and affirming lives; and he’s committed to ensuring that LGBTQ+ people, especially LGBTQ+ people of color, have the protections and support they need in Maryland.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE REFORM
Maryland’s prison population has the worst racial disparities in the country by a wide margin, incarcerating a higher rate of young Black men than any other state. John will take bold steps to correct this injustice.
